PIXELIA is a french website but not limited to french people : Where ever you live, you can register and join the community ! As we´re operating on the french market, titles, keywords and descriptions of our graphics are in french language only... When making a search with keywords, try to type keywords in french or browse by "categories". If you´re a photographer uploading pictures on PIXELIA and if you´re not familiar with french, don´t worry : Just enter all titles, keywords and descriptions in english and our team will turn them into french...

Royalty free image : What does it mean ?
A royalty-free picture is not the picture itself (as file) but a license (an authorization) that determine the usage of the picture : What is permitted and what is forbidden... in general, when someone buy a royalty-free license he can use the image in an unlimited time but there are many restrictions :
1°- Usage is limited to illustration on a single support (website,press,magazine). If the user wants to use the same image on differents supports, he must buy one license for each support.
2°- The user cannot resell the image.
Extended license...
This type of license gives more rights to the user : Depending on terms, the usage of the image is extended to unlimited numbers of supports, and, the image can be used for prints on derivated commercial products (tee-shirts, posters, etc...). Whatever, the user cannot resell the image.
Advantages for photographers...
First, RF photos shouldn´t be compared with art ! Many people don´t really make the difference saying that Low-cost photo banks don´t consider the work of true photographers... Art photography is one thing, Royalty- free Stock photo is another thing : While art photos are shot for one customer (and sold one single time), RF photos are sold under license : It means that the photographer remains the sole owner of his pictures and that he can sold unlimited licenses (to different customers) for the same image ! Of course, one license sold at 1€ is not very interesting, but imagine the amount of money when the license is sold one hundred or one thousand times !!!

What kind of photo do we accept ?
We love original images ! Nowadays digital cameras make very good HD photos at an affordable price... So, what we need is IMAGINATION, and there´s no price for it ! Just be creative and your pictures should be validated on PIXELIA...
Technical requirements : These requirements are very easy to respect. Just be attentive when setting your camera and when modifying your pictures in photo softwares.
In all cases, each image should :
Have at least a 4.000.000 pixels resolution.
Not weights more than 3 Mega Bites.
Be sharp without digital noise. |
